Waterstone Heritage Farm
Rooted in history, raised with care
About Us

Waterstone Heritage Farm is part of our family’s living legacy in northeastern Vanderburgh County, Indiana. For generations, this land has nurtured cattle, sheep, and people alike — a place where forest, water, and community weave together.
We raise Dexter cattle and Katahdin sheep with care, focusing on gentle temperaments, hardy genetics, and pasture-based living. Every animal carries forward the values of resilience, stewardship, and balance with the land.
Waterstone is more than a farm — it’s our way of honoring those who came before us and building a sustainable path forward.
Our Homestead Heritage Breeds
We raise animals that belong to the land as much as we do–we choose animals for their resilience, gentleness, and balance with the land. Our farm is built on breeds that carry the American spirit with history in their bones and hope in their future for homestead families.
🐂 Irish Dexter Cattle
Dexters are one of the world’s smallest and oldest heritage cattle breeds, originating in Ireland. Compact, efficient, and versatile, they provide both milk and beef while thriving on grass-based systems. Known for their gentle temperaments and easy calving, Dexters are an ideal fit for homesteaders who want cattle that are as manageable as they are productive.
🐑 Katahdin Hair Sheep
Katahdins are an American heritage breed developed for low-maintenance, pasture-based living. Unlike wool sheep, they naturally shed their coats, eliminating the need for shearing. They’re renowned for their parasite resistance, strong mothering instincts, and mild, delicious lamb. For homesteads seeking sustainability and ease of care, Katahdins are a perfect match.

Arrowhead Farms Heritage Poultry
Rooted in history, raised with care for health and for show 🪶
Arrowhead Farms carries forward our family’s tradition of raising heritage birds with care, resilience, and purpose. We focus on poultry and pigeons that reflect both historical significance and modern vitality — birds bred for health, hardiness, and exhibition quality.

We are actively working toward NPIP certification, because the safety and health of our flocks — and the broader poultry community — matters to us. From exhibition pigeons to heritage poultry breeds, Arrowhead Farms blends history with high standards for stewardship.
For us, raising birds is not only about preserving the past, but also about creating a sustainable and vibrant future for homesteads, shows, and families alike.
All birds are raised with care in clean lofts and coops. Sales and swaps are welcome when available — we love building connections with other homesteaders and fanciers.
