Waterstone Heritage Farm

Waterstone Heritage Farm

Waterstone Heritage Farm is part of our family’s living legacy in northeastern Vanderburgh County, Indiana. For generations, this land has nurtured cattle, sheep, and people alike — a place where forest, water, and community weave together.

We raise Dexter cattle and Katahdin sheep with care, focusing on gentle temperaments, hardy genetics, and pasture-based living. Every animal carries forward the values of resilience, stewardship, and balance with the land.

Waterstone is more than a farm — it’s our way of honoring those who came before us and building a sustainable path forward.

We raise animals that belong to the land as much as we do–we choose animals for their resilience, gentleness, and balance with the land. Our farm is built on breeds that carry the American spirit with history in their bones and hope in their future for homestead families.

Dexters are one of the world’s smallest and oldest heritage cattle breeds, originating in Ireland. Compact, efficient, and versatile, they provide both milk and beef while thriving on grass-based systems. Known for their gentle temperaments and easy calving, Dexters are an ideal fit for homesteaders who want cattle that are as manageable as they are productive.

Katahdins are an American heritage breed developed for low-maintenance, pasture-based living. Unlike wool sheep, they naturally shed their coats, eliminating the need for shearing. They’re renowned for their parasite resistance, strong mothering instincts, and mild, delicious lamb. For homesteads seeking sustainability and ease of care, Katahdins are a perfect match.

Animals are grouped by immediate sale, potential sale, cow–calf pairs, and starter herd or flock packages. Each catalog includes valuation ranges, temperament notes, and background details to help you find the right fit for your homestead.
